Scotland’s pro-independence politicians and parties are doing an outstanding job. The Scottish government has prioritised policies geared towards transforming this country from the festering backwater to which Westminster had tried to reduce it into a fairer, more competitive, and socially just society. London-imposed austerity has been fought every step of the way, small businesses have been given the assistance they sorely need to grow and increase employment, and investment in the lives of our children is growing.
All of this continues to go on against the tide of a Tory-led Westminster establishment and a frighteningly hostile BBC media machine. Our democratic voice continues to be manipulated, distorted, minimalised, and even muted both in the Scottish media and throughout the rest of the United Kingdom. Gaining ground – making the positive case for Scottish independence and winning more people to Yes – means that we really need our voice to be heard. No one will speak up for us. This is something we have learned that we have to do for ourselves.
Independent Scottish media is not just important, it is crucial. Without it we are fighting a losing battle. We all know what effect this alternative media had during the 2014 Independence Referendum campaign – it brought us from rank outsiders to the point of almost securing our independence from a political union that has and continues to be a disaster for Scotland and Scottish people. This is a long way from being over and we know that Tory domination in Westminster and Brexit are driving us fast towards another referendum on independence. This IndyRef2 will not be a clean fight. The gloves are off already. As it approaches and as we make our way through it these independent media sites will become more important than ever.
If we truly want independence and if we want our voices to be heard then we have to help in whatever way we can. Not everyone can donate money. Some of us are flat broke and struggling. If this is where you are right now, then don’t worry. You can still help. You can share this message with everyone you know. That is more important – the more people who know the better. Below we are going to include links to a number of sites that need our help. If you can, then we are appealing to you to consider making a donation of however much you can afford to any or all of these sites. This can be our gift to Scotland in 2017 – a year to secure our independence.
Maybe we have felt someone out? Apologies. If we have left someone out then write a comment below informing us and we will get them on the list.
Please share on Facebook and Twitter. We need people to know.
